Overview
500 kg of organic waste a day in a 100% stainless steel body with immersion passivation. One-button operation, with an internet connection for remote monitoring, intervention and control.
Inside
The cut opens the machine: the chamber with the mixing arms, the air filter with baffles and activated carbon, the two fans and the enzyme tank.
Step 1 of 10
Organic waste goes in through the top hatch.
Step 1 of 10
Four load cells under the machine, between the casters and the frame, weigh the waste that went in.
Step 2 of 10
The heaters on the chamber walls bring the inside up to 70 °C.
Step 3 of 10
On the first start, and after the chamber is fully emptied, the enzyme pump sprays liquid enzyme from the top of the drum for 2 to 3 seconds. After that, the compost left in the chamber acts as starter.
Step 4 of 10
The arms turn forward and back to mix the waste.
Step 5 of 10
The amount of waste in the chamber goes down.
Step 6 of 10
Fan 1 blows clean air over the heater and into the chamber for the whole mixing time.
Step 7 of 10
Fan 2 draws the hot air out of the chamber into the filter.
Step 8 of 10
Inside the filter the air hits the baffles and cools down.
Step 9 of 10
The air then passes through the activated carbon and leaves to the atmosphere. The carbon sits in a washable cassette.
Step 10 of 10
To discharge, the arms turn in reverse and push the compost out of the door; a little compost stays in the chamber as starter for the next batch.
Machine screen
The screen shows the weight of the waste that went in, the energy used and the net weight at the end (an example 500 kg batch).
Online
The machine is connected to the internet. Its data can be followed remotely, and the machine can be monitored, controlled and adjusted remotely, with remote intervention when needed.
Maintenance
There is no costly mandatory filter change. When odor appears, or about every 6 months, the filter cassette slides out and is rinsed with water; then only the activated carbon is refilled. Low cost, easy maintenance.
Installation
The machine needs no water connection and no wastewater connection. Unlike digesters that send food waste down the drain as grey water, it makes compost and no wastewater, so it can be put into service right away.
Summary
A 12-24 hour cycle at 45-75 °C (113-167 °F) reduces the waste volume by up to 90%, odorless, indoors or outdoors. In the machine, mixing, heating and the air flow run together; the tour shows them one after another.
Tour compressed to about a minute; timings are illustrative. The ECO-130, ECO-300 and ECO-500 KSN work the same way at different scales; the ECO-1000 KSN adds a bucket lift. UVC is optional.
